A Pascagoula woman called 911 around midnight saying a man was beating on her door claiming to be a police officer.The woman then told the 911 dispatcher the man was breaking in. Seconds later the phone went dead.
When police arrived, the woman said she had been sexually assaulted by a man armed with a large butcher knife.
Police used a K-9 to track the suspect to a home on Jackson Avenue. Mitchell Nichols, the boyfriend of the woman who lived there, answered the door, He said he and his girlfriend, Tonia Smith were the only one in the house.

When officers got Smith to come to the door, she too said they were the only ones in the house.

Police then searched the house. They found items belonging to the victim, as well as clothing worn by the suspect. So they kept looking and found Robert English hiding in the attic.
English, who is Smith's son, was arrested and charged with one count Burglary, two counts of Sexual Battery, one count of Aggravated Assault, and one count of Kidnapping.
Smith and Nichols were arrested and charged with being accessories after the fact.
