Kx, not fair for me to pay a higher tax on my candie bar, when i’m not fat or in bad health, If i burn the cal.s and work hard, no big deal what i eat now and then. just not a far tax. maybe we need to have little boxes you walk into that tell you what tax you should pay by your health. when you reach a max liability,the little box can just flush. marxist max tax box. lets burn some book and talk about it.

Sounds like it is about time to grow yer own!

I think we need a good ol’ fashion revolution!

*grabs pitchfork*

Someone please tell me where does it end? If a company ran their business the way the goverment spends money they’ld have to file chapter 11 , but not the goverment. They just raise taxes on people who can’t afford them anyway.  Some where along the line the elected officials forgot that they work for the people that elected them! We didn’t vote on tax hikes, If it is going to effect us we should have a say about how OUR money is spent. What do the rest of US think about this?

I guess I was skipping the parts I thought you understood.

Broken down for ickthus:
The tax on smokes is to cover the HEALTHCARE. (Which makes sense, since smokers tend to get cancer.)

However, obesity leads to heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and numerous other problems. As long as you’re a fat non-smoker, you still get to reap the benefits of the smokers, who, other than smoking, take care of themselves. (Even Obama smokes..and he’s got a smokin’ hot healthy body too!)

Smoking = Unhealthy
Obesity = Unhealthy

However, only one is taxed.

KxVicious, when are you going to start burning books? just want get get my marshmelows before the tax goes up. why not just tax fat people. how about taxing people that post things that just don’t add up. using taxes as a political tool or statement is a just bad government and business.

Justme, I agree!

I think non-healthy foods should have HUGE taxes on them.

I have decided to quit.  I can’t afford to smoke anymore.  Last day is Friday.

I ike many other am sick and tired of the goverment using the tobacco industry products everytime they need more money.  Why don’t you people pick on something else for awhile3? Alchole actually kills people when they are used by drivers. How bout taxing all alchole more for awhile. Leave the smokers alone for awhile. You are always raising taxes on tobacco products and that picks a specific group of p[eople to help the goverment raise more money. How bout we the people cut goverment salaries to save money for us. makes as much sense as raising taxes everytime you all need more money. Give the people a break!!!
