A homicide investigation is underway after a pair of hunters discovered the body of a young woman late Saturday night.A spokesperson for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department says the hunters found the woman in a wooded area off Highway 15 in Saucier. The black female is in her late teens or early twenties.
As of Monday afternoon, investigators have not released the woman's identity, but the cause of death is blunt force trauma to the chest.
Harrell McQueen, who lives near the crime scene, says this is not the first time a body is been found in the area.
"They think they can just dump somebody off and get away with it," says McQueen, "but their gonna get caught because there are a lot of coon hunters and a lot of deer hunters out here."
Investigators have not identified any suspects. The woman's killer remains on the loose.
