GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - Gulfport Mayor Brent Warr has asked afederal judge to order prosecutors to release more details about
the fraud case against him.
Warr and his wife, Laura, have pleaded not guilty to charges
they lied to get disaster assistance to repair their Hurricane
Katrina-damaged beachfront home.
U.S. Magistrate John Roper has scheduled a hearing for Thursday
in federal court in Gulfport to hear Warr's request for more
information on the government's case.
The government contends the beachfront home was not the Warrs'
primary residence when Katrina hit in 2005, so they were not
entitled to the $150,000 homeowner's grant they received.
