JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour says he had
a noncancerous bump removed from his face as a precaution.
Barbour, 60, was wearing a small bandage on his right cheek
Wednesday as he spoke hundreds of people at a Mississippi Economic
Council meeting in downtown Jackson.
In a brief interview after the speech, the Republican governor
said his dermatologist removed the spot Wednesday morning. Barbour
said he had melanoma 30 years ago, so his doctor doesn't like to
take any chances.
He said the latest procedure was "not a big deal."
