The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident that took place around 9:40 p.m. July 4th along the Destin Harbor. Witnesses say a woman and her friends were watching the fireworks on docks near Emerald Grande Tower when the woman suddenly clutched her shoulder and fell to the ground. She was taken by medical helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, suffering from a gunshot wound. At last word she was in good condition.
The victim has been identified as 23-year old Stephanie Kaye Little. Deputies say there are no indications of foul play. It appears someone randomly fired a weapon into the air and the bullet struck Little on its way back down. Fortunately that bullet did not strike any vital areas.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-853-TIPS.

Yea! a couple of years back I heard something hit the roof on the night of July 4th. I went out to see if maybe it was some fireworks up there burning, but didn’t see anything. a couple of days later I went up on the roof to check it out and found a 38 or 45 caliber slug buried in the shingles. Man if that thing had hit someone on the head it would have went right on through the skull bone.

As if it’s not bad enough to have people shoot fire works at you, you gotta watch out for the idiots who have no common sense….I hope that she makes a full recovery. The goof ball who did the shooting should be shot with it to show him/her how it feels and how dangerous it is….grin
