PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour has
commuted a convicted killer's sentence after 19 years in prison,
drawing outrage from the victim's family.
The governor this week commuted 54-year-old Michael David
Graham's sentence for murdering Adrienne Klasky Graham. Graham has
been in prison since 1989 and has been a trusty at the governor's
mansion for the last eight years.
The victim's niece, Nancy Northern, said family members
testified against release three times before the state parole
board.
A spokesman for the governor has declined comment. The prison
agency says Graham's commutation can be revoked if he doesn't meet
parole terms.
Graham shot his ex-wife at close range with a shotgun as she sat
in her car at a traffic signal in Pascagoula in 1989. The couple
had been divorced for three years and she claimed he was stalking
her and threatening her regularly.

Opinion, he has appeared before the parole board and been denied. I guess they don’t know enough to make good decisions. I wonder if Haley has seen the crime scene photos of the side of this lady’s head or what remained of it? Cool as a cucumber, Graham drove away with his head and life.

This is absurd.  It appears the only hope is that somehow he doesn’t meet parole terms.  I really feel for this family.

He really only spent 11 years in jail.  Kill your ex and then you can live in the governors mansion for the next eight years until he grants you a pardon.  If this were Haley Barbours family being murdered they would have had a peace bond and a restraining order out and he would have never been invited to their house.  He would have already been executed.  They would have stoned him to death.  This is sick.

HE IS A KILLER… LEAVE HIM WHERE HE IS.. NO PAROLE.. HOW FAIR IS THAT WITH ALL THE OTHER KILLERS IN JAIL..  IF YOU LET ONE OUT THEN YOU SHOULD LET ALL OF THEM OUT.. TELL HIM TO GIVE HER HER LIFE BACK THEN YOU MIGHT THINK ABOUT PAROLE…..

I think being a trustee at the GOVERNOR’S Mansion for the last eight years says it all. Every female in mississippi should call the governor or his wife. downer

This is horrendous! I remember when she was shot. Her ex husband killed her right in front of her father’s store, Brumfield’s. She had filed a complaint with law enforcement regarding his threats. I think Haley Barbour is sending a clear message to everyone that domestic violence isn’t that bad. No one is going to protect you. The first female police officer in Mississippi to be killed was murdered during a domestic assault call. Barbour is sadly mistaken to think this man needs to be on our streets.
