PETIT BOIS ISLAND, Miss. (AP) - Coast Guard officials say oneman died and six others were rescued when a boat capsized south of
Petit Bois Island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The identity of the body found in the pilot house of the vessel
Wednesday has not been released pending identification and next of
kin notifications.
Coast Guard Sector Mobile in Alabama received a report about a
capsized 21-foot recreational boat about 3:30 p.m.
The Coast Guard said in a news release that four survivors were
picked up by an off shore supply vessel. Two others were found on a
nearby oil rig by the crew of a rescue helicopter and taken to
Gulfport Regional Airport.
