A burglar is shot and killed while trying to break into a Pascagoula family's home.

20-year-old Javorous Tims had just gotten out of jail two days before he attempted to burglarize a mother and her son at the Granada Apartment complex, Thursday night.

Pascagoula Police say Tim's tried to make his way through a bedroom window when the son fired two rounds, hitting the suspect once.
Lieutenant Davey Davis with the Pascagoula Police Department says it is a justifiable homicide.
"If you have the means to defend yourself...by all means you need to that. Especially if someone is coming in and potentially assaulting your mother,"Said Lieutenant Davis.

Although authorities say Tims wasn't armed, Pascagoula Police tell me neither the son or his mother will face charges. The investigation is still ongoing and will be presented to the Jackson County District Attorney's Office.

Haha, good point.  It’s just a sad thought that the world has come to this.  People are getting waaaaaaaay to comfortable with the thought/action of killing another human being.  But I still stand that they had every right to defend themselves in this particular situation.

they have the right to remain silent, make sure they use it forever.

thats right, dead men tell no tales.

Shoot to kill, and it’s your word against a dead body. You win.

Shoot to kill tank_girl, never leave them able to go trial, get off and be out on the street doing the same thing in less than a year. Why should we taxpayers keep feeding and housing these scumbuckets, they are a waste of space and breathing air. Shoot to kill every time.

With all the crazy stuff going on lately, I would have totally done the same thing.  Shootings at random, B&E and Burglary rates rising.  Whether it’s the economy or whatever, people seem to be going crazy lately.  Point is, if you were in that situation, would you conversate with the potentially dangerous criminal?  Or would you defend yourself before they get the upper hand?  If someone knows they’ve been caught/seen (especially having just been released from jail) most of them wouldn’t hesitate to mess you up if it meant saving themself from doing time.  Did they go too far?  No, not really.  I would have suggested go for a shot that wouldn’t be fatal so the fool would HAVE to do time for it, but in that situation, ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  There’s my 2 cents, spend it wisely.  wink

they must have up dated that . never saw it.

The answer is: NO,
they did NOT go too far.

I hope others follow their example.

Ickthus, look at it from the stream! The news stream describes the story as “A family tries to protect themselves from a prowler, but did they go too far?”

jlnny, no where i read does it say any thing but a justifiable homicide. who said it might have went to far?? are you off your meds?
