Biloxi 1 Win Away From Championship Round Of SW Regional

Mississippi Biloxi  Biloxi kept its dream of advancing to the Little League World Series alive by beating Tulsa in the Southwest Regional 3-2 Sunday in Waco Texas.

Biloxi entered Sunday on the brink of elimination from the Little League Baseball Southwest Regional in Waco, Texas. One more loss in pool play and the dream of a trip to Williamsport, Pennsylvania and the Little League World Series was over.

After losing Game 1 Friday night to Texas West, Biloxi knew today's game against Tulsa was a must win.

Biloxi broke things open in the top of the 4th. Trent Gill scored on a fielder's choice and Tyler Roch scored on a passed ball. They added another run in the fifth on a Mason Berkowitz solo home-run. Biloxi held on to win 3-2.

Biloxi plays Louisiana tomorrow at 1. A win gets them in the championship round.

The team is coached by Scotty Berkowitz and George Johnson. Team members are Mason Berkowitz, Austin Creel, Eddie Rey Garza, Trent Gill, Blake Johnson, John Paul (J.P.) McLaughlin, Darrell Montiforte, Jordan Rackley, Tyler Roch, Jordan Roberts and Jack Schmidt.
