Army Deserter Captured In Ocean Springs

Mississippi Ocean Springs  Alert officer nabs a deserter on the run for more than a decade.

Ocean Springs, MS – The United States Army Law Enforcement Command at Ft. Knox, KY alerted Ocean Springs police that an US Army deserter may be in the area. Lt. Vince Spriti, along with Officer Lee Leonard, acting on the information, found the deserter at a Booth Circle home in Ocean Springs.
The deserter was identified as Army Specialist Wesley Scott Strickland (DOB 4-28-67). He was living at the Booth Circle home.
According to Sergeant First Class John Robinson, from the U.S. Army desertion point at Ft. Knox, Strickland deserted the Army while stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, on January 23, 1998. Strickland was taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. He is being held with no bond pending U.S. Army extradition.
