Remember learning your alphabet? A song helped make it possible. Now, some videos designed to help children with special needs learn to write are incorporating songs.
"The rhythmic chants that we use, it's so catchy and it tells them exactly how to motor plan. 'Up and around back up and down…A', and it's the repetition," said T.V. Teacher Co-Founder Susan Ellis.
Susan Ellis created a video after she recorded therapy sessions for her autistic son.
"He was watching the video demonstrations. He was listening to that chant and started writing in ten minutes. I mean I just, I couldn't believe that something he had been struggling with for years, was able to be accomplished that quickly," said Ellis.
There are three teaching videos for children with special needs: One works on capital letters, one is on little letters, and a third deals with shapes and helping children in creativity. We've provided a link on website on where you can buy the videos, just click on the external links on the right side of this web page.
