October is breast cancer awareness month. There's nothing funny about breast cancer, but there's one family who's turned their great heartache into smiles.
In 2006, Kelly Rooney lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 43. But before she died, she came up with an idea to raise money for research and breast cancer awareness. Rooney named it Save 2nd Base. It's an online website where people can purchase merchandise and donate to cancer research. Since her death, Rooney's family has kept the site going and developed the Kelly Rooney Foundation. Through the foundation, young girls are educated about breast cancer.
