NEW ORLEANS (AP) - New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson is
recovering from cancer surgery.
Team spokesman Greg Bensel confirmed Wednesday that Benson, 81,
underwent surgery last week for a cancerous mass on his left
kidney.
The surgery was done on Dec. 10 by Ochsner Medical Center
urologists, Bensel said.
Benson was released Sunday and is resting comfortably at home,
Bensel said.
Benson will miss the team trip to Detroit for a game against the
Lions but is expected to be back in his office next week. Benson's
physician, Dr. John Amoss, said in a news release that he
anticipates a full recovery.
