People with psoriasis often cover it up. But now laser therapy lets the light shine. A light therapy called X-Trac that exposes skin to intense doses of UVB light. "Really is very useful for isolated small areas of psoriasis where we don't want to expose the patient to generalized light therapy," said Dermatologist Dr Marc Levin. This phototherapy is best for patients with mild to moderate psoriasis.
Treatments occur over a period of months, with results in ten or fewer quick sessions.
The laser treatment is covered by many insurances, but check with your provider.
Doctors say this therapy works for many patients, but not everyone, and it is "not" a cure for psoriasis
