Losing weight is hard and when you hit that plateau on the final few pounds it can be even more difficult. A new device can zap away fat with radio-frequency energy. The new tool in the battle of the bulge is called Lipo-Ex. A radio frequency heats the water molecules around the fat cells and they melt away. There are no needles, and no surgery.
"I've operated on enough people with coronary and heart disease to know that anything that one can do to reduce these types of risks, is going to be beneficial." said Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Herman Pang.
Doctor Pang says it's the fat that accounts for increased cases of heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, joint disorders and cancer.
He says nothing takes the place of good diet and exercise. Eight sessions of Lipo-Ex costs about $3,000.
