NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Hot dogs may be as American as baseball and
apple pie, but a national cancer-awareness group says they're
hazardous to your health and should carry warning labels.
The Washington, D.C.-based Cancer Project, a vegan advocacy
group, wants to force hot dog makers to use warning labels. The
group filed a lawsuit Wednesday in Superior Court in Newark on
behalf of three New Jersey residents. The defendants are Kraft
Foods Inc., manufacturer of the Oscar Mayer brand; Sara Lee Corp.;
Nathan's Famous; and the makers of the Hebrew National and Sabrett
brands.
The lawsuit cites a report by the American Institute for Cancer
Research that concluded regular consumption of processed meat can
increase the risk of colorectal and other forms of cancer.

LOL @ BamaBob.

Good one!

The flies probably are dropping around them!
LOL
Bet them fellas have to eat a whole bottle of beano after the contest.

Yeah, those dog eaters should be dropping like flies, if there is any truth to this story!  Hmmmm…. they should be dropping like flies anyway!  gulp

Putting away 68 wieners in ten minutes is not normal.  Unless you are Paris Hilton.

We’ll have to watch all these hotdog eating champs and see how it affects them and then multiply their years by 50 to see how it’ll affect us.Probably if we live to be 200 it’ll get us. LOL

Ain’t it the truth!  I love a good hotdog.  I even watched a 2-hour documentary about the best dawgs in the country…... twice!

No doubt they aren’t that good for you,but they sho are good with all the dressings.If they were a health food,I’d be the healthest person around.It’s about like the 92 year old man that died and his friends and family said it was the whiskey that got him.grin
If you can’t enjoy a little of life’s pleasures,who would want to live to be 100?
cheese

~~~ My wiener has a first name ~~~
I did get one of those haz-mat dogs for lunch the other day and the results were explosive!  gulp
They’re just asking for a warning label…which is just as effective as the one on cigarettes boxes.
I’m hoping it doesn’t go through, since I ate hotdogs as a kid, I can have Mr. Mayer foot the bill when I get cancer one day!
the warning should be the vegans them selfs. they don’t care about you, cancer or anything other than them selfs and what they think. they think no one has the right to eat animals and fish have feelings to. just another socialist group of nut jobs. All processed food has a higher cancer rate than non processed foods. they are just after the meat because they are vegan sheep. Everone needs to join P.E.T.A.  P.eople E.ating T.aste A.nimals kingsford tonight Baby!!!!  I’ll even put some corn on there for you vegan nuttheads. you see we don’t hate we marinate
Maybe it can cause cancer if you eat them 3 meals a day for 20 years.  However, I am sure that more people die every year from contaminated produce than hotdogs.
