ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Floridians have saved nearly $1 million
through the state's discount drug card program that began in
December.
Gov. Charlie Crist on Thursday announced that almost 47,000
people have signed up for the discount cards.
The program is open to people 60 and older and low-income
families of all ages if either lack insurance covering prescription
drugs. That includes seniors who fall into the gap in the Medicare
prescription program.
Crist made the announcement during a speech at the Florida
Medical Association's annual conference in Orlando.
