TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - An autopsy report says cocaine contributed to
the death of TV pitchman Billy Mays.

The 50-year bearded TV personality died of a heart attack in his
sleep. His wife found him unresponsive June 28 at their condo in
Tampa, Fla.

A release from the Hillsborough County medical examiner's office
Friday said Mays had last used cocaine days before his death.

The report said that although Mays died from heart disease,
cocaine use was a contributing cause of death.

Billy was making some serious coin!Over a million dollars a year for shouting like a sunday morning TV preacher,and almost making as much as a TV preacher.
I believe he was burning the candle at both ends and the cocaine sped the burn,but he was a born saleman it seems.A good saleman or person can take your last dollar for something you probably will never use and as he walks away,you’re still smiling about it.he was good at it.

I thought he was a pretty “clean” guy, ya know… with the Oxiclean and all I have to say that I’m a bit surprised that he was doing cocaine. Why is it that all these people who get into a little bit of money also get into drugs?

Yeah. Definitely not too much of a shocker, but I would have expected the Shamwow guy to OD before this cocaine contributing to this guy’s death. However, if you have a heart condition it is not very bright to take something that effects the rate of your heart in the way cocaine does. Kind of asking for it. Same thing as smoking when you have a heart condition. However, people make their own decisions and have to live, or in this case die, with the decision knowing that will affect everyone around you and close to you. If it was my husband I do not know if I would be more upset because he was gone or upset because he knew the risks he was taking while doing it. That is if the wife did not know. If she did not, than I am sure she is having a hard time coping with it.

Yeah. Apparently him and the Shamwow guy did not get along so well. Something about the whole Shamwow thing being something that he stole from him. I do agree with you Southernmama. Also at least he was not arrested for beating a prostitute like the Shamwow, or as some say Shampow, guy was. Still sad though. I wonder if the family knew he was doing drugs? I do not see why just because you are able to afford the stuff, people feel they have to do it. I know the stuff wires you up, but they have so many energy products out there, which are still probably not that good for you, that you can take. May not have the same affect, but at least it is not illegal and will be so controversial if it is found in your system when you die.
