MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Former University of Alabama football star and"Biggest Loser" finalist Roger Schultz has signed on to coach
Alabamians on weight loss journeys of their own.
Health officials announced Monday that Schultz will lead next
year's Scale Back Alabama campaign with the goal of losing a
statewide total of 500,000 pounds.
Schultz lost 164 pounds on NBC's weight loss competition and
says he's adopted a healthy lifestyle in order to keep it off.
The Alabama contest will begin with weigh-ins in January and is
the third year for the project.
Health officials says they're making the announcement so far in
advance so people will get excited and start planning their
participation.
People can join in groups of four and have the chance to win
cash prizes of up to $1,000.
