Plenty of people are bringing their recreational vehicles, or RV's, to downtown Mobile again for Mardi Gras. The people who run RV City said spaces sold out January 30.
Judy Moore of Silverhill is one of the people who did get a space.
And she brought in an RV with almost all the comforts of home.
Moore said the recreational vehicle is 36 feet long.
She said, "We have a fireplace in it. It's electric, but it's a nice little fireplace."
James Stabler of Daphne brought the whole family down with him.
Stabler said, "I got cousins, sister-in-laws, granddaughters, got the whole crowd."
Sue Ann Accardi is a native of upstate New York who moved to Florida and always wanted to see Mardi Gras.
Accardi said, "This is our very first Mardi Gras. We have never been to this before and everybody has been telling us, 'You have to go to Mobile. Forget New Orleans.' They said Mobile's the place to be, especially for families."
We even found the queen of the Conde Cavaliers Parade, Stephanie Reynolds, in an RV getting her hair done.
Reynolds said of her impending ride Friday night, "I am very excited: a little nervous, but excited at the same time."
Many people who bring the recreational vehicles downtown are members of the various Mardi Gras organizations.
