Mobile Police say two teenagers are accused of breaking into their impound lot and stealing car stereos at the department's impound yard on Virginia Street. The teens reportedly broke into 12 cars early Saturday morning and ripped out their stereos. Police say the guys got away with it the first time but guessed they would be back.
They were right and set up surveillance to catch them.
Early Sunday morning, police say the teens returned and broke into 18 more vehicles. After the crime spree, the teens were reportedly trying to scale the fence and get away. Mobile Police arrested the two guys.
19-year old Lamario Risper could face up to ten years in prison for the crime. A 17-year old minor was also arrested.
Mobile Police say they *are* responsible for cars once they're towed to their lot. The city's legal department will work with owners to recover any lost items.
