A Mobile man reportedly claimed to work for Cox Radio and offered Kaleigh Morgan a job. She forked over 125 dollars for what she thought was an FCC license. (Federal Communication Commission) Morgan says she was excited about the opportunity to get into radio and put in her 2-weeks notice at her current job. Kaleigh's mom says she had met Charles Howard years before and had no reason to believe he wasn't telling the truth. "I trusted him. We trusted him. I never had any reason to think any different."
Kaleigh's first day doing voice-overs for commercials was supposed to be on Monday but Howard never called. Kaleigh couldn't find the Mobile office he claimed to run either.
We contacted Cox Radio officials and they tell us that they have never had an employee by that name and have received multiple complaints about Howard. Kaleigh filed a police report and called us to get the word out about what she believes is a scam. Mobile Police confirm they are investigating.
Luckily, Kaleigh's employer took her back before it was too late. "I called my boss and told her something's wrong you know something's not right and I need to know if something is not right and I need to know... Before I got it out, she told me I was welcome to stay."
We got Charles Howard on the phone. He goes by the name Charles Nevett as well. He says he never told anyone he worked for Cox Radio. He says his employer is Coxx Incorporated and he will soon have work for Kaleigh.
