NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Actor Val Kilmer, one of a host of
celebrities in New Orleans this weekend for Carnival 2009, got the
good times rolling with a visit to Children's Hospital.
Kilmer, this year's King of Bacchus, signed autographs and
chatted with patients and their families outside of Louisiana's
only full-service facility dedicated to treating children. He then
went inside the hospital to meet with other patients. It's a
tradition held by every reigning Bacchus for more than 25 years.
As Bacchus, Kilmer will also be attending costume fittings and a
private party in his honor, riding in the Bacchus parade Sunday
night and attending the Bacchus ball.
Other celebrities taking part in the slew of parties, balls and
parades are Kid Rock, Jim Belushi, Joan Rivers and Bryan Batt.
