WATCH: Surprise Mardi Gras marriage proposal

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) - Mardi Gras this year was made extra special for one couple during the Mobile Mystics Parade on Saturday February 3rd.

Tyler Noland decided to pop the big question to his girlfriend of three years, Vivian Landwehr, on their dating anniversary.

In 2015, the two attended the Mobile Mystics Ball for their first date. Tyler had a float rider, who happens to also be his best friend, hold up a sign that stated, "Viv, Will You Marry Me?"

Surrounded by friends, beads, and probably moon pies, Vivian's reaction to the sign shows the happiness of the moment.

"Three years ago we went on our first date to the Mobile Mystics Ball. After graduating college all of our friends moved off to different places, but this is the one time of year that we all get together. It was nothing out of the ordinary and I never saw it coming" Vivian states in an emailed message to News 5.

Congratulations Tyler and Vivian!
