A Pensacola woman is hospitalized in critical condition after she was hit by a car earlier tonight while crossing Ninth Avenue. The incident occurred around 8:40pm in the 7100 block of North Ninth Avenue. Officer Rickey Harris said the woman - Maria Emery, 52, of 4973 Yacht Harbor Drive - was running eastbound across Ninth Avenue when she ran in front of a 1996 Nissan Sentra driven by Emily Garber, 22, of 8050 North Ninth Avenue. Garber was southbound on Ninth Avenue in the inside lane at the time, Harris said. Emery was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital. No charges have been filed. » More
