Atchison lives in Gulf Breeze and has been active in the Gulf Breeze Sports Association for the past 10 years. At the time of his arrest, he was President of the youth athletic organization. Tuesday afternoon, the group released this written statement to News 5 reporter Debbie Williams.

Roy Atchison has been a valued member of the Gulf Breeze community and the Gulf Breeze Sports Association for the past decade. He will be on a leave of absence as President of the Gulf Breeze Sports Association until outcome of the case. The board will continue to administer and oversee sports for the Gulf Breeze community.

Atchison is scheduled to appear in a Detroit federal courtroom this afternoon. WKRG will have the latest developments tonight on News 5 at Five and Six.
