MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Police said a toddler was found covered inhis mother's blood and next to her body outside their home.
Mobile Police spokesman Officer Eric Gallichant said detectives
believe 33-year-old Shannon Campbell died from at least once
gunshot wound.
Gallichant said a friend of Campbell who came to visit her told
police he found the body at the front door at about 8:30 a.m.
yesterday (Sunday). Investigators are working to identify a suspect
and a motive.
Gallichant said the Department of Human Resources took the baby.
