A woman found sexually assaulted and covered in blood in a Pensacola parking lot is showing signs of improvement at a area hospital. She was found in the Clarion Hotel parking lot near University Mall early Thursday morning. What looks like a normal day at the Clarion Hotel was a crime scene just hours ago.
"There were twelve marked police cars, two unmarked police cars, two crime scene vans and quite a few police officers milling around the parking lot over there." Lovee Giorno came to work early this morning, "It was very obvious that something horrible had happened. There was quite a bit of blood on the ground. It's frightening."
A woman was found under a truck by a hotel security guard bleeding and unconscious.
Investigators believe the assault started in an adjoining parking lot. The victim running from her attacker leaving a trail of blood until she collapsed in the hotel parking lot.
Priscilla Moore has worked at the hotel for more than 20 years. "Only thing we know is blood was running all down the hill here where she was trying to get help."
The victim was not registered at the hotel. Her identity protected because of the nature of the crime and while it may be hard to find any trace of the violence that happened here, one thing remains, fear.
Hotel guest report nothing unusual overnight.
