Last night at approximately, 11:30 p.m., members of the Mobile Fire Department were called to the area of Joachim and Bloodgood Streets for a report of one down. When the paramedics arrived, they found Stacy Brown (25) suffering from multiple stab wounds to her body. Brown was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center where she later died as a result of her injuries.A short time later, a second female, Vera Lane (21), arrived at Mobile Infirmary with a laceration to her body. Homicide investigators determined that Lane and Brown had gotten into a verbal altercation near Brown’s home in the 200 block of Bloodgood Street. The argument escalated when Lane and Brown both armed themselves with knives. A physical altercation ensued during which Brown sustained her fatal injuries.
Once Lane was released from the hospital, she was taken to Mobile County Metro Jail and booked for Murder.
