The Green Eyeshade awards are presented by the Society Of Professional Journalists and The Atlanta Press Club. The awards recognize excellence among professional journalists in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and West Virginia. In the broadcast awards division, all television markets, regardless of size, compete against each other. The awards were presented by Bob Edwards, host of "The Bob Edwards Show" on XM Satellite Radio and "Bob Edwards Weekend" distributed by Public Radio International.
