2007 was indeed a great year in sports, particularly in Mobile. Which begs the question, "What is the top local sports story in 2007?"
Was it St. Paul's capturing their 1st ever football state title. Or former St. Paul's pitcher Jake Peavy winning the National League Cy Young award.
How about native, Henry Aaron coming back to the Port City, days before his home run mark fell to Barry Bonds.
On December 31st, we'll select the year's top 10 stories in the Mobile area.
Vote RIGHT NOW on your choice for the Top Mobile Sports story of the year.
Put an emphasis on IMPACT!
How much did the story impact the Mobile area.
We've got 10 choices, select one as the top story. VOTE NOW!!!!!!!

You have just lost one avid viewer. How dare you not to include one thing about girl athletes or their sports. You must be a cave man. I agree with the other two comments. But its not your fault totally. You have an editor that also must feel girls sports are not important, becaus ehe should have noticed something was missing in your top 10 list. When a girls high school volleyball team makes a first for Alabama athletics ( Boys or Girls) and you don’t recognize it as newsworthy you are not doing your job.

Your top ten list is GREAT, if you are a guy. How about for the ladies in the state:

Bayside Academy makes Alabama history by winning 6 straight 2A State Volleyball Championships in the same division by dominating state playoffs. This has only been equalled by Huntsville who has moved between divisions and after Bayside had set the bar.

Not bad...Never in any Alabama sporting event has anyone team won 6 straight. Oh yeah, the coach was named the “Coach of The Year “ for Alabama
