Commuters that usually travel along Water Street in downtown Mobile may have to find an alternate route Thursday. That's because the road will be closed to accommodate work being done on the Renaissance Riverview Hotel. The hotel is having a tower structure and spire added atop the building. Water Street is expected to be closed most of the day Thursday starting at 12 O'Clock in the morning.
The acutal spire will be placed on top in about a week. When the work is complete it will resemble the top of the RSA Tower, with identical lights to match.
