GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - State Farm has filed a motion asking that the Katrina Litigation Group be removed from a case because of what the insurance company calls unethical behavior.

State Farm previously tried to have Oxford attorney Richard "Dickie" Scruggs removed from the case, but the request was rejected by U.S. District Court Judge L.T. Senter Jr. and the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Since then, Scruggs has withdrawn from Hurricane Katrina cases because he is under federal investigation in North Mississippi for attempting to bribe a judge in a dispute over legal fees.

The Katrina Litigation Group is now handling the lawsuits for policyholders filed on the coast.

State Farm's motion to have KLG attorneys removed was filed regarding the Shows case, which accuses the company of racketeering and fraud. The lawsuit was filed by more than 20 policyholders.

State Farm maintains that Scruggs and now KLG, have crossed ethical lines through involvement in criminal and civil proceedings against the company.
