More than $2.1 million dollars awaits 1,840 Alabama taxpayers who have not claimed their refund checks. IRS spokesman Dan Boone said the refunds were returned by the Postal Service as undeliverable. Mobile and Baldwin counties are among the list of 10 counties with the highest number of unclaimed refund checks. “IRS would like to get these refunds to their owners in time for the holidays,” said Boone.
