With the cost of fuel on the rise, some are feeling the pinch in more ways than one.
Some truckers say they are so fed up with the cost of diesel fuel, they are going to strike April 1st.
Todd Wiggins is one of the owner operators planning to put his truck in park. Wiggins says he has to pay for his own fuel, and with the cost of fuel on the rise, it's hurting his pocket.
"If you run hard in a week you may spend $2,000 to $3,000 dollars on diesel,"says Wiggins.
He says big rigs hold around 300 gallons on average, but they only get about seven miles per gallon.
By parking their trucks to get their message across, he says it may hurt everyone.
"If we're down for a day or three days, you know you may see prices in the grocery store rise,"says Wiggans.
The cost of fuel is not only hurting truckers, grocers say it is affecting their price per pound.
Rick Stewart owns Burris Market, and says "It's making bananas cost more and tomatoes cost more." While he relies on truckers transporting his produce, he says he supports them.
"I've complained a lot about it a lot myself every time I have to fill my car up, "says Stewart.
Wiggins hopes by going on strike, it will help all of us out.
"If I can take off one to three days and it prove a point or at least get diesel down a dollar or two a barrel or what have you, then it's worth it in the long run,"says Wiggins.

Some truckers, fed up with diesel fuel, are having to reach into their own pockets to fill up. But with a nation wide strike they hope to send a message to the White House.

Recently I received an email about American Gas, and I will paste the most important data that was on it.  It is good to know where the gas we buy is coming from.  With two brothers driving trucks, I know that they are going through trying times.  For your information here are the facts as received in the email.

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

Shell…...................... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco….....144,332,000 barrels
Exxon /Mobil…..........130,082,000 barrels
Marathon/Speedway..117,740,000 barrels
Amoco…....................62,231,000 barrels

Citgo Gas comes from South America , from a Dictator who hates Americans.

Do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION! (Oil is now $110.00 a barrel)

Here are some large companies that
DO NOT import Middle Eastern oil:

Sunoco…............ 0 barrels
Conoco…........ 0 barrels
Sinclair….........0 barrels
BP/Phillips…....0 barrels
Hess….............0 ba

Way to go! NOw if we could get the driving public to go on strike and not buy any gasoline for a day or two i think we would start to get a little attention about the gas prices.Buying less will not work, they will just up the price to get just as much money for half as much gas.Cold turkey is what it will take.
