evening in northeastern Mississippi near the town of Burnsville.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries, a
spokesman with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said.
The tornado is part of a storm system that has killed at least
seven in Arkansas and spawned at least 25 tornadoes across four
states.
Authorities say the tornado reported around 7:30 p.m. in
Tishomingo County was moving northeast at 30 miles per hour toward
the Alabama and Tennessee borders.
MEMA spokesman Jeff Rent says the only reports of damage come
from Panola County where downed trees have landed on houses.
