Sheriff Sam Cochran said, "The Coast Guard dispatched and has recovered the body of a small Asian child."
But as to whether or not the body is that of Luong, Cochran said, "We cannot make absolute confirmation and that will be up to the medical examination and authorities. But at this time its sufficient enough to us to suspend all recovery operations."
Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson said, "To think that this might be this child is just an astonishing journey for that little girl."
For Captain Paul Stewart of the Mobile County Sheriff's Flotilla, word of the discovery fulfilled a promise to finish the search.
Stewart said, "We were ecstatic. We were as happy as we can be. The Mobile County Sheriff's Flotilla and all the assisted agencies are relieved to say our job is done."
Hannah's mother, Kieu Phan, attended church services Sunday morning at Hollinger's Island Baptist Church.
The children's uncle says Phan fell to the floor at her home after she learned of the discovery.
Kam Phengsisomboun said, "Once she heard it, she just like hit the floor hard. We got her up and got her going again. I don't know if that was happiness or that was sadness. Its kind of hard to explain her feelings."
As for the funeral, Reverend Phillip Vo says plans have not been finalized by the family.
But family members have been talking about having some type of public remembrance.

My thoughts have been with the searchers and the family. The searchers stood against all odds to bring all the children home. I admire the “true grit” it took to go out every day in all kinds of conditions and never givie up.
They were in an area where not everyone was able to go search, though many of us wanted to go.
I admire Mississippi for being so caring and allowing Lindsey to come home so fast. I hope Louisiana will allow Hannah to come home soon. Surely they can understand how hard this has been for the children’s family and for the searchers and all the people who care so deeply.
