"If we can help just one to do that, it makes it worth its while," says Mobile Team Focus Vice President Patrick Adams. 70 young men are enrolled in the camp. It started Sunday and ends tomorrow. The boys are taught things dads teach sons: how to tie a tie, proper manners and how to be a gentleman. "Just work with them, and put our hand on them, give them a little coach squeeze, and eventually they open up," says Adams.
Some young men have found a new voice thanks to Team Focus. Christian Spencer is 16 years old. He's been coming to Team Focus since he was ten. He says, before he came here, he was shy and didn't speak-up. Spencer says this program gave him the confidence to nail his first job interview.
"It's just a lot of things they taught you, little things, that are going to benefit you in the long run," says Spencer. "I got my first job this year and I can honestly say it's because of this interview process we have here, I love it, I love Team Focus." The non-profit holds camps throughout the summer across the country.
