Teacher Accused of Raping Student in Court

A Washington County Alabama teacher accused of having sex with a student waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

54-year-old Charlene Schmitz, a teacher at Leroy High School, was arrested June 22nd after the student's mom gave police dozens of sexually explicit e-mails she claimed Schmitz sent to her son.

Police say the 14-year-old boy later admitted to having a relationship with Schmitz.

Schmitz is charged with rape and sodomy.
