TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Florida residents may again be able to
buy hurricane supplies tax free.
The Legislature is considering making storm supplies exempt from
sales taxes for one week at the start of hurricane season. The
House Policy and Budget Committee considers the issue Monday.
The tax break would be from June 1 through June 7 if it gets
final approval.
Among the items that would be tax free are flashlights, portable
radios, weather radios, tarps, gas cans and batteries.
