A woman with military background held Prichard Police in a stand off for about 2 hours Tuesday afternoon.
Prichard police say the woman who is in her 50's had not been taking her medication.
Officer's were called to the home on Bullshead near Grant Ave. When they arrived a couple of shots went off inside the home. Officer's blocked off the area and made repeated attempts to contact the woman by phone. Prichard police officers were able to successfully talk her out of the home around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon. Major Pat Mitchell with the Prichard Police Department says the woman is being taken to a hospital for evaluation.
