MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Statehouse in Montgomery is
without power.
A spokesman for the Alabama House of Representatives, Clay
Redden, said the power went out about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. Redden
said Alabama Power reported a squirrel got in a transformer. Power
is supposed to be restored about noon.
The Statehouse is using emergency lights and employees are
answering the phones, but computers there are out of commission.
The power outage could be worse. On Monday, the Statehouse was
packed with people for the final day of the Legislature's 2008
session. But it is much quieter with the lawmakers back at home.

We’re gonna have to turn BAMABOB loose on that back stroking bunny rabbit from Georgia that tried to climb into President Jimmy Carter’s fishing boat back then. Depending on which version you believe, the Secret Service’s reactions or the one where the president had to resort to hand to hand combat using a boat paddle against a National Security danger.

Sources report that Secret Squirrel had been somewhat despondent before visiting the Statehouse.  Attempts to reach Morocco Mole for comment have been unsuccessful.

Family members indicate that Secret Squirrel will be cremated due to the large discount offered by Joe’s Crematorium and Soul Food Kitchen.

I heard the squirrel yelled “BEAM ME UP SCOTTY ,THERE’S NO INTELLIGENT LIFE HERE” before jumping into the transformer. We’re going to have to write a song about the Alabama KamiKazi statehouse squirrel.

You can bet your bippy this is not the first time the people in the statehouse has been in the dark! they should be use to it by now, walking around in the dark, not knowning what’s going on in the state. The squirrel didn’t think it would make a difference to them.

Let’s hear it for that brave little squirrel who gave his life in a silent but shocking way to tell our State Reps what he thought of their deplorable time in office!

Hear, Hear Rocky!!
