PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - About 120 Minnesota college students
are spending their spring break along the Mississippi Gulf Coast to
participate in hurricane cleanup.
The students from St. Olaf College, a private, liberal arts
college in Northfield, Minn., traveled 22 hours on buses to get to
Mississippi as a part of Ole Spring Relief III. This is the third
year this group has been to the Gulf Coast to help clean up the
area.
The St. Olaf group works with Lutheran Disaster Relief, which
coordinates the work sites where the students go, according to
Rambachan. They are staying in Biloxi and have done work in Moss
Point this week.
She does not know where they are going until they find out from
LDR.
Organizers say students have come to live and work for a week on
the Mississippi coast and be a part of long-term recovery.
