News Five is getting the first word from the mayors office about a story we told you about Wednesday.
There's been at least one meeting in Theodore to talk about the possible benefits of joining the city.
And Thursday, a Theodore resident gave us a handout he says a person was giving out yesterday to people in the area of Bellingrath Road and Old Military Road.
The handout explains the benefits of annexation, but does not specifically mention Theodore.
Barbara Drummond with Mayor Sam Jones office told News Five the city is not working right now on annexing Theodore, but that such a move would be good for the city.
She also says a few weeks ago, a church official at Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Theodore called and asked Mayor Jones to come speak to church members because they wanted to hear about the advantages of annexation.
The police chief and fire chief accompanied the mayor and answered questions.
However, city officials say no lines have been drawn and no plans have been designed.
We'll continue to follow this story.

Mobile Police Jurisdiction To Expand?

I don’t really care if Sammy annexes “The Terrace” which voted “yes”. I don’t really care if Sammy annexes this poor area in Tillman’s Corner if they vote “yes”.
BUT! BUT! BUT!
To attached the businesses not even connected to these “sure thing” votes for the city (very carefully carved out) is corruption at it’s worst. Anyone and just about everyone sees how unfair and wrong that is.
But Sammy seems to have no problem with such out in the open corruption and scheming.
