Test results just back from the lab today indicate Spanish Fort Elementary's 6th grade building is free of lead paint. Now the school district is waiting for the green light from the state health department.Painting crews doing sandblasting work over the Christmas Break discovered the lead paint. The school has been closed since then and students have been attending classes at two local churches. Today, kindergarten, 1st and 3rd graders returned to class.
Baldwin County Schools District Officials hope to announce later this week exactly when the 6th graders will be able to return to campus.
