More crews will launch from Cedar Point and Bayou la Batre shortly. Among them, Clarke County's Search & Rescue team from Jackson, Alabama.
There are also crews from the Mobile County Sheriff's Office Flotilla, North Baldwin Search & Rescue, South Baldwin Search & Rescue and Daphne Search & Rescue.
The crews will focus on several different areas, including the Dauphin Island Bridge, and marshy areas around Bayou la Batre. The search shifted to the Bayou la Batre area yesterday morning, when a duck hunter found the body of 4-month-old Danny Luong in Point Aux Pins, about 5 miles NW of the Dauphin Island Bridge. Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran says the infant died from blunt force injuries and drowning.
The Mobile County Sheriff's Office Flotilla believes sonar equipment spotted 1-year-old Lindsey Luong, 2-year-old Hannah Luong and 3-year-old Ryan Phan late Friday afternoon. But strong currents prevented them from sending divers back down to check.
Chief Robert Phillips, from North Baldwin Search & Rescue, says "we've been searching for closure from the day we started and we hope today's the day."
Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine says the search for the 4 bodies is costing an estimated $100,000 a day. On Friday, the County Commissioners donated $10,000 to the Sheriff's Office Flotilla to help fund the search.
