All convicted sex offenders in the United States must register where they plan to live 30 days before they're released from prison.
They must also give their new address when they move.
It's all part of Megan's Law, which was signed by President Bill Clinton in 1996.
The law was created in honor of 7 year old Megan Kanka of New Jersey.
In 1994, she was raped and killed by a convicted sex offender who lived across the street.
At the time, sex offenders didn't have to notify police where they lived.
You can search for registered sex offenders on the Alabama Department of Public Safety's website.
