"In just 24 hours we had a house fire, a trailer fire and those two big apartment fires," says Linda Biller, C.E.O. of the American Red Cross of Northwest Florida. "We spent nearly five-thousand dollars helping fire victims with food, shelter and clothing last week."
Biller says the organization has helped over 800 fire victims this fiscal year.
"Our budget is nearly depleted," says Biller. "We've spent 104-thousand dollars of our 112-thousand dollar material assistance budget. We need people to help us out and donate money locally."
Call the Red Cross of Northwest Florida at (850) 432-7601 if you'd like to donate. You can also find more information about the agency at www.northwestflorida.redcross.org
