Hundreds of electronic devices were dropped off at the Greater Gulf State Fairground Saturday during Keep Mobile Beautiful's spring recycling event.
Computers, cellphones, printers and other electronic devices contain toxic materials that could harm the environment.
The idea behind the recycling event is to keep the items out of the landfill and put them into the hands of a company that will dismantle them and put them into the recycling system.
Keep Mobile Beautiful's Bob Haskins says they expect to haul off 3 tractor trailer loads of worn out electronics.
Student volunteers from Cranford Burns Middle School were on hand to assist and to learn more about recycling.
